How to Get Rid of Security Code on Iphone

How to Remove the Passcode from an iPhone or iPad

Just remember that if you remove your passcode from your iPhone or iPad, your photos, email accounts, texts, and other private contents of your device will not be protected if it's lost or stolen. Another downside to turning off your iPhone password is that your Apple Pay cards will be removed from your iPhone.

  1. Open theSettings app.
  2. TapFace ID & Passcode or Touch ID & Passcode.
  3. Enter your iPhone passcode.
  4. Next, tapTurn Passcode Off.
  5. Read the disclaimer and, if you still want to remove the passcode from your iPhone, tapTurn Off.

Alternatives to Removing the iPhone Passcode

Use Face ID or Touch ID Instead of Turning Off the iPhone Passcode

Forget entering passwords; Face ID and Touch ID can be used in place of a passcode for most functions, including unlocking your iPhone, approving App Store purchases, and unlocking certain apps. However, other functions, such as turning on or restarting your device, will still require your passcode. If you have an iPhone with Touch ID or Face ID capabilities and you haven't set them up yet, now is the time!

How to Set Up Touch ID

You can register up to five fingerprints, which can include the prints of people who you want to grant access to your iPhone without having to give them the iPhone passcode.

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap Touch ID & Passcode.
  3. Enter your passcode for authorization.
  4. Tap Add a Fingerprint.
  5. Rest the finger you want to register on the Home button and follow the on-screen prompts.
  6. Tap Continue.
  7. Rest the edges of the finger you want to register on the Home button and follow the on-screen prompts to complete registering your fingerprint.

How to Set Up Face ID

Face ID functions the same as Touch ID, but your register your face rather than your fingerprint. Face ID is available on the iPhone X and later and the third and fourth generation iPad Pro. Face ID can be used with glasses and contacts, but not a face mask.

  1. OpenSettings.
  2. Tap Face ID & Passcode. Enter yourpasscode for authorization.
  3. Tap Set Up Face ID.
  4. Make sure you're holding your device in portrait orientation, then tap Get Started.
  5. Position your face inside the frame and move your head in a circle, following the on-screen prompts.
  6. Tap Continue, then repeat the circle formation.
  7. Tap Done.

Change Your Auto-Lock Settings Instead of Turning Off the iPhone Passcode

The Auto-Lock feature on your iPhone or iPad allows you to set the amount of time that elapses before the screen turns off and the device automatically locks. This is a good option if you want to keep your iPad or iPhone passcode enabled but also reduce the number of times you must enter your passcode to use the device. You can also turn Auto-Lock off by selecting Never in the Auto-Lock preferences.

  1. OpenSettings.
  2. Scroll down and tap Display & Brightness.
  3. Scroll down again and tapAuto-Lock.
  4. Select your Auto-Lock time preference.
